11:14am: I'm at work right now. It's cold, so why the fuck do people want smoothies? I know Allan feels me on that one. I'd like to throw the register and replace it with a .50 Cal. machine gun.

Musicians...how do you feel about the Peavey 5150/5150II? I'm probably going to get one as soon as I get a couple hundred more bucks. Take into consideration that all I'll probably ever play is hardcore music since I'm not good enough to play anything else.

5:27pm: I stand corrected about the whole tax dollars/capital punishment thing. I'm an idiot. Stay in school kids...

29th November 2006

10:31pm: First off, I'd like to apologize to my Bama friends for the previous entry. I was thinking back on the days at elementary school and hearing all the Bama kids rag on me for Auburn sucking. Like I could do something about it. I have several Bama friends who are some of the nicest folks I know, but the over-the-top, obnoxious Bama fans do get on my nerves. I'm sure there are Auburn fans of the same character, but we don't have near as much to brag about. Again, sorry for the harsh words.

About the capital punishment situation...yeah it's pretty hypocritical for the state to be able to kill someone. It's hypocritical that this nation, which is based on Christianity as we all know, supports the death penalty. However, I am not Christian, and I do think that some people deserve to die. From what I understand, prisons in Alabama are becoming so crowded that inmates are being sent to Louisiana to do time. When rapists and murderers do time, our tax dollars keep those miserable pieces of shit alive as they rot. Some might argue that the death penalty is the easy way out. That can be easily justified. But for the sake of overpopulation, I'm down for juicing criminals.
12:43pm: 10 things about me
1: I think lethal injection is boring. Bring back the chair and the noose.

2: I have the hardest time saving money.

3: Very few people have seen me get pissed in its truest form. I try my best to remain calm around others, but when I'm alone, I'll lose it, and it takes every ounce of self-control not to break things. I've come so close to smashing this laptop I'm on right now.

4: I can't read books that don't interest me. I can't even force myself to.

5: When I was little, I used to cry sometimes when Auburn lost to Alabama. I hated going to school the following Monday and hearing all the Bama kids talk shit. But when Auburn would win, I would talk mad shit to them, so it all evens out. Except for the typical Bama fans' twelve national championship ace of spades shitpiece. Any Bama fan that's stuck on that shit can get fucked. It's been since '92, the glory days are done.

6: I love stoner metal, even though I've never smoked a day in my life. Also, if someone argued that musicians on drugs make better music than musicians who don't do drugs, I wouldn't disagree, but I would argue that there are some cases where the latter is better than the former. Whatever, it's all opinion.

7: I'm at work right now. The door on the right stays locked for some reason. I try to keep up with how many people each day get door pwned by trying to open the right door. I think it's funny because I can see it coming and I'll think to myself, "haha, this guy's about to fuck up". Also, when I see people that look like they're coming to my store, I say things out loud like "sonofabitch" and "don't fucking come in here." But then when they get in here I'm like "Hey, how are you today? What can I get for you?"

8: I hope that when I die, nothing happens. No heaven, no hell. I just want to rot. Blissful nothingness. Whether you're religious or not, I encourage you to think about it/accept this fate. I'd imagine it would be about like it was 200 years ago, or even 2 million years ago. You just wouldn't exist, and really, how bad would that bother you? I don't mean to step on anyone's faith here. Religion does good for some people. Just think about this. It fascinates me. Maybe it's just me though.

9: I can't approach girls for the life of me. I'm scared. I'll never get a girlfriend.

10: I totally disagree with what's going on in the Middle East right now. I understand they're talking about bringing back the draft. If it came down to it, I think I could kill someone, and here's how I would deal with it: "I ended the life of this person who was trying to kill me. I don't know him, I don't know his family, not my fucking problem." Then on with my life. Don't think I'm some gung ho, pro war American, but that's how I would deal with it if I was forced to.

11 (one more for good measure): I consider myself really lucky to be able to play with one of my favorite bands. It's been more than a dream come true.

10:38pm: Hampstianity
This is what I believe...there is a hampster in the center of the Earth. The hampster has a wheel that it runs on. The wheel is what makes the world turn, it generates power, it keeps the planet in orbit, etc, etc. The Earth's fate is in the hands of this one hampster. I say prayers to the hampster every night before I go to sleep. The hampster is the reason why we exist today.

If you don't believe me, prove me wrong!

Really, I don't belive in this hampster. I believe in it about as much as I believe in a God who, out of nowhere, created a universe. Think about it.

Ryan Powers pleaded not guilty today. I fucking hate that guy. Derek said he was smiling in the courtroom. I want to blow that smile off his face with a shotgun. There better not be any fucking nutcases on the jury for trial. You would have to be a fool to take his side of the story. He sliced my neck, hand, and almost took out a lung.

I found out today that my phone does work, but only on speakerphone. Feel free to call me, just know that everyone around me will hear you.

Die Young needs a last minute show in Birmingham on the 21st. We're coming through to drop me off and we thought we might as well play. Make it happen. We don't care where it is. Die Young seriously loves Birmingham, so please support this band.

12:32pm: Running from loss prevention
First of all, my phone is broken. I can make and recieve calls, but I can't hear whoever is on the other end of the line. You can hear me, but I can't hear you. Any advice on how to fix it? Kind of a bummer because there are a few people who I'd really like to talk to. I can still text though, so send me some of those.

We're hanging out in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. The studio is in Miami and we're staying in Ft. Lauderdale. Like an hour drive every day. The new CD, titled Graven Images, is going to be so awesome. If you like Die Young's previous releases, you'll love this one. It's darker, meaner, faster, more evil riffs, and The Message is on it. They rerecorded it.

I've decided that Florida sucks. I don't like this state. People drive way shitty, the weather sucks, and there's nothing to do. Fuck beaches.

The other day was a close call. In case you all don't know, I come out of shoplifting retirement when I'm on tour. We all steal food. You save money. Food used to be free a long time ago. That's a whole nother rant, though. Anyways, I walked out of a grocery store with a bunch of food in my hands. That normally works like a charm. This huge black dude, who was probably a loss prevention employee, confronted me when I was on my way to the van. He was like, "Come on man," and grabbed me to go back inside. I was like "Nah, man," and I fucking bailed. He chased me. I did pretty good for a white guy. I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I glanced back every now and then and he got pretty close. He gave up and I ran back behind the grocery store a few hundred yards to another shopping center, called Daniel and they came and picked me up in the van. Recovered the food that I stashed while I was running, so I still won. Close call. We've been laughing about it ever since it happened.

I'm almost through being a teenager. I'm totally ok with that. I hate teenagers as a whole. For example, all that spring break shit on MTV...I just want to shoot all those fucks with a machine gun. I hate all that partying shit. I see a bunch of those kids driving around the Miami area on the weekends. Fucking Todd dudebros and their Mustang convertibles. They all stand up and wave at people, like they're hot shit. I just want to watch a car full of them flip over and see them all burn alive.

Kevin told me the other day that a dude I know, Matt White, was arrested for rape and capital murder. He used to come to my birthday parties in elementary school. Too bad he fucked up. He was always pretty nice to me. Last time I saw him I was buying new shoes. He worked at the shoe store and gave me a discount. And now he's in prison for the rest of his life. That's pretty weird to think about.

5th September 2006

1:44am: In Quebec City. Definitely one of the coolest cities of this tour. Reminds me of Europe. The keyboard here is totally fucked up though.

30th August 2006

1:13am: News/marriage rant
Die Young is so evil and blasphemous that we shut down a venue tonight in Tupelo, MS. No more shows there because of us. We're definitely back in the Bible Belt. Won't be here for long, though. Chattanooga tomorrow, which will be awesome seeing all my Chattanooga friends and Birmingham friends that are coming up. Then we're going all over up north to places like Pennsylvania, New York, and like five dates in Canada. Shit will be boss.

I don't think I'm going to get married. They always fuck up and I don't see how one could possibly know that he or she wants to spend the rest of their fucking life with the same person. Even after dating someone for like five years...how could you be so sure that in ten years you won't get tired of him or her? What the fuck makes people think that they're "meant for each other?" So anyone that is serious with the whole whispering sweet nothings like "I'll never leave you", that shit is stupid. It might get you laid, but then you'd be a piece of shit. Plus when you get married you have to go through all that religious shit that I don't want to be a part of. And who gives a shit if you're legally recognized as a married couple? And if you're married, it's probably a real pain in the ass to do all that legal divorce shit.

1:10am: Yeah so I'm at Rynearson's right now, just saw Gorilla Biscuits. For free. They started with New Direction, with the trumpets and all. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Tour is the coolest fucking thing I've ever done in my life. I've met great folks, seen all types of ill shit, and had so much fun. Having Allan with us for half the tour was definitely awesome. We'll all miss him. No one in the van has gotten tired of anyone. We all get along just fine. Also, I have a crush on the singer for Gather. Classes start tomorrow, and I say fuck that. Tour > school. And while I'm doing inequalities, I'll say that Texas girls > Alabama girls. As much as I don't want to admit it, it's true. We're leaving tomorrow night for Tupelo. Ready to get back on the road. I love waking up in the van, not knowing what state I'm in, looking up and seeing infinite broken white lines.

21st August 2006

12:40pm: We've got a couple of days off in Austin, TX now. Everything has been awesome. Touring with Hollywood was awesome. Great band, great dudes, and seeing Bryan for a couple of weeks was awesome. I saw the Grand Canyon, jumped off huge cliffs, drove through Hoover Dam, played shows to awesome kids who knew the words, and done all kinds of ill shit.  I'll have pictures by the time I get home.  We're almost done with the first leg of the tour.  Just a couple more dates, including one show in Monterrey, Mexico.  After the next few dates we have like four off days in Houston.  I'll see Gorilla Biscuits there.  Next month we'll be all over the east, including Canada.  Die Young has asked me to do more tours with them, so that's good.  When I get home, everyone will be gone, so that sucks.  I miss a few people.

Awesome. And Bryan will be playing all those dates with Hollywood. I know all the Die Young songs that will be played on the tour except for the new, unreleased one.

I can't wait. I love Birmingham, but it'll be nice to get out of here for a while. So while all of you are bitching at each other about stupid shit, and going out of your ways to piss other people off for no good reason, know that Allan and I will probably be in some awesome city not having to deal with any of this stupid drama that's been going around. Yeah, I can't wait.

1st July 2006

5:32am: Thank you all
Many thanks to all of you who have supported and congratulated me. It really does mean a whole lot. I wish I could see all of you more often.

Found out today that Allan will be joining me with Die Young to be roadie/band whore or what have you. That rules.

More news...and this is another total mindfuck. Hollywood asked Bryan to fill in on guitar for their summer tour. And Hollywood just happens to be touring with Die Young for like two weeks, mostly out west I think. Ain't that some shit?

Pictures from the Your Loss mini tour will be up soon.

30th June 2006

4:34am: If you only read one of my LJ posts ever in your life, read this one.
I love Myspace. I'll be playing guitar for Die Young this summer.

Daniel from Die Young here. As you may know, we've got a bad situation going on with our lack of guitarist at the moment. We had to cancel all our shows coming up in July, but we're hoping to play the last couple shows of that tour in B'ham and Baton Rouge.

I've only seen you play once (I thought your band was really good and tight), and I don't know what your schedule is, but I wanted to ask if you would consider touring with Die Young throughout the summer beginning July 28. Do you think you could learn the songs well on your own? or atleast well enough to practice them and touch them up at practice.

After some of the people we've had in the band recently I am really trying to make a more conscious effort to bring someone into the band, even if only for filling in, that has the same musical taste and musical background that we do, and someone who values ideals in HC/Punk. Nealy left to join Iron Age because he really doesn't care about what Die Young has to say anymore. He just wants to party all the time.

Anyway, all the dates that we need a guitarist for are on our myspace and our website. Let me know if you'd be available and if anyting could be a possibility.

Take Care,
Daniel Truth

I'm not posting this for scene points/cred or whatever. It just blows my fucking mind that I was asked to play guitar for one of my favorite bands ever. This is a dream. I love this band. I've posted several of their lyrics in past entries. I'm leaving July 28th and nothing can stop me.
